Technology

High-level map of the current implementation.

Authentication

  • Auth.js (next-auth v5 beta) with the Drizzle adapter and database-backed sessions in Neon;
  • Sign-in: /sign-in (Google OAuth + optional local dev email provider).
  • Optional: Cloudflare Turnstile on sign-in, sign-up, forgot/reset password, and resend verification (env keys in .env.example); verified server-side when captcha hosts are configured.

Application

  • Next.js (App Router) with React and TypeScript;
  • Tailwind CSS v4 with PostCSS;
  • shadcn/ui-style components (Radix primitives, class-variance-authority, tailwind-merge, lucide-react icons).

Data and ORM

  • Neon serverless Postgres for primary persistence;
  • Drizzle ORM with Drizzle Kit for schema push and migrations;
  • @neondatabase/serverless driver for edge-friendly database access.

AI models

  • Chat, Local Drive rename/organize, and other Vercel AI SDK calls use lib/ai/chat-model.ts. Preferred order: Vertex Gemini on Google Cloud (company billing / Cloud credits), then a Gemini API key from Google AI Studio, then OpenAI, then Anthropic.
  • Vertex is not the same as an AI Studio key. Cloud credits apply only when Vertex is configured on the Saarthee Google Cloud project.
  • Default Gemini model is gemini-3.8-flash. Override with GEMINI_CHAT_MODEL or force a vendor with CHAT_LLM_PROVIDER (vertex, google, openai, anthropic).
  • Keys stay server-side only. Turn AI off in Settings → Trust & data. Suggestions can be wrong — see the Disclaimer.

Hosting and delivery

  • Vercel for builds, previews, and production deployment;
  • Node.js runtime on Vercel for API routes such as /api/health and /api/auth/*.

Developer tooling

  • ESLint with Next.js defaults;
  • dotenv for local environment loading in database tooling.

Open source and notices

The Service builds on open-source packages; each dependency remains under its own license. For a full bill of materials, inspect package-lock.json in the repository. If you need a consolidated third-party notice file for enterprise review, request it via Support.
